They should be reviewing the vocabulary list in order to master the actividades.
The end of the week brings the next Leccion 2 where we learn to describe ourselves as well as other people.

We have been reading some interesting Cuentos Simpaticos and studying the uses of the preterite and imperfect tenses.  Leimos "El Hombre Mas Desafortunado del mundo" y "El Madrileno y el Campesino".  This coming week we will begin working on Benchmark #1, in which students have to write and present a two minute skit that describes a crime using the present, preterite, and imperfect tenses.

Spanish 1-2

Many students have done fantastic work with our Libros Abecedarios.  We had books that showed La Playa, Las Frutas, La Cocina, La Casa, El Espacio, El Mar and more.
This week we begin our study of leisure and free time activities.  We will be diving into Avancemos and will begin our adventure with Alicia and her traveling camiseta de futbol.
Our next project, the Bolsa Cafe involves using props in order to talk about ones self, interests and activities.  Students should be gathering items that can put in a bag in order to use during the presentation.  Students will be receiving the rubric this week and it will be posted on the blog as well.

Spanish 5-6

Our Libros Abecedarios were quite creative and fun.  A few were quite funny.  Buen trabajo!
This coming week we will be reading a number of Cuentos Simpaticos in order to lead us into our next project, La Bolsa Cafe.
Students will be introducing themselves and discussing likes and dislikes as well as their childhood.
They will also be telling a quick story about a meaningful event that happened to them in the past. The present, imperfect and preterite tenses will all be used.  The rubric will be handed out this week and will be posted on the blog as well.

Spanish 1-2

We began this week our use of the language Website and App Duolingo.  It is a fantastic way for students to use the computer or other device at their own pace to acquire new language and vocabulary.  We will be visiting the computer lab on a weekly basis and students are expected to spend one hour per week at home using the website.  Students will be evaluated according to their progress throughout the year.
This coming week we begin out study of the very popular and useful verbs SER and ESTAR.  We will also be diving into the textbook and watching the drama of the world-traveling soccer jersey.

Spanish 5-6

We have been reviewing the use of reflexive verbs and the respective pronouns in the present, past and progressive tenses.
Students in Spanish 5-6 also began this week using Duolingo and are asked to spend 90 minutes per week using the program outside of school time.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Open House on the 9th of October.
